Variance in Foreign Reserves: SBP

KARACHI: The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$15,943.7 million on 20 February, 2015.

The break-up of the foreign reserves position data released by SBP, the foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan stood at US$11,074.9  million, net foreign reserves held by banks are US$4,868.8 million, thus total liquid foreign reserves are US$15,943.7 million.

During the week ending 20 February, 2015, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by US$119 million to US$11,075 million compared to US$11,194 million in the previous week.

During the week SBP made payments of US$161 million on account of external debt and other official payments, which include US$136 million payment to IMF under SBA. During the same period, SBP received US$43million from multilateral, bilateral and other sources.
