PIA Given Another 6 Months Before Privatization
ISLAMABAD: Senator Mushahidullah Khan has said the government wants to revive Pakistan International Airlines.
Addressing a news conference, along with Secretary Civil Aviation, in Islamabad this evening, he said issues should be resolved through dialogue rather than going on strikes.
Mushahidullah Khan said rights of PIA employees will be protected and their perks and privileges, salaries, and gratuity will never be affected in the new plan for reviving the national flag carrier.
He urged PIA employees to call-off their strike and solve issues on the negotiating table.
He said the government would go to any extent in protecting employees’ rights, but it would never accept any kind of blackmailing.
The Senator said essential services Act will be invoked if matters are not solved through dialogue.
