Model Saima Azhar to Debut in RJ Turned Director Sahir Lodhi's Movie
While Sahir Lodhi’s first film Mausam is still in production phase, the RJ turned host has announced his next project which casts Aijaz Aslam, Saima Azhar, Naveed Raza, Sana Fakhar, Sahir Lodhi, and Shamoon Abbasi.
Directed by Saqib Siddiqui, Rastay is Pakistan’s first dark action thriller. The script has been jointly written by Sahir Lodhi and Shahid Naqvi.
Renowned actor Naveed Raza, who is making his debut through this film, said the upcoming film is going to be quite hat ke and not your usual run-of-the-mill scripts.
“It is neither a cheap comedy flick, nor will you find any Bollywood flavor in it. It’s going to be a somber film focusing on the bond between brothers," he said.
Raza further confirmed that the film will go on floor from November 10 and its first spell will be shot in Karachi.
Renowned actor Aijaz Aslam and super model Saima Azhar will also be making their silver screen debut through Rastay. Azhar has recently bid adieu to ramp modeling to kick start her acting career.
“Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri was initially roped in for the lead role, but due to cross border tension she stepped down and we then took taking Saima Azhar on board," Raza added.
Film star Sana Fakhar will also be playing a key role in the movie, she confirmed to media.
"It's a performance based meaty role revolving around human emotions and as artists we crave for such roles which help us show our potential," Sana told media.
The music of the film has been done by Sajji whereas qawali maestros Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Amjad Sabri will lend their voice.
“As you know, Sahir bhai has a background in radio, so he has paid special attention to music. He has chosen the best people from Pakistani music scene for this film," Raza said.
Raza also revealed that Mathira will do an item number in the film. Since it's an action thriller, Rastay has roped in the all time favorite stuntman Mehboob Shah as the action director.
