Four People Killed in Quetta by Terrorists
QUETTA: Four people were killed when unidentified men opened fire on Saturday in two different incidences.
Assailants opened fire at a barber shop on Mano Jaan Road killing two men on Khalifa Chowk, PS Saddar, while another two were shot dead in a separate incident on Double Road in Quetta.
The people killed on Mano Jaan Road were identified as two brothers, Mohammad Rafique and Mohammad Naseeb.
According to initial reports, police are terming this as a terrorist attack.
Soon after the shooting on Double Road, Frontier Corps officials arrived and cordoned off the area.
This incident comes two days after gunmen ambushed a police patrol vehicle and shot dead four policemen in the troubled Pashtoonabad suburb of the provincial capital.
The gunmen who were riding motorcycles shot dead an assistant sub-inspector, his driver and two police constables on board, according to SSP Operations Quetta Aitzaz Goraya. The gunmen fled the scene unidentified and unchallenged before a police contingent reached the site.
“It is the first time that eight policemen have been killed by armed men in just one week,” said Quetta police chief Abdul Razzak Cheema. “One of them got down from the police pickup and tried to retaliate, but was killed on the spot,” he said.
