QUETTA: A group of armed men kidnapped at least six people in Kakaran Khurasaan area of Qila Saifullah in Balochistan on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Abdul Wahid Kakar confirmed six people including three engineers, a contractor, his son and driver have gone missing but did not say if they were abducted.
“A search operation is continuing but it is too early to confirm if they have been kidnapped,” he said.
According to an official of Balochistan Levies, contractor Asmat Ullah had gone to visit a sight in Kakaran Kurrasan area with three engineers, his son and driver when they were kidnapped.
“They were kidnapped from the area with two cars,” said another Balochistan Levies official.
The kidnapped were identified as contractor Asmatullah, son Shah Faisal, engineers Bacha Khan, Abdul Saboor, Aslam Musa Zai and driver Ameenullah.
They were taken to Afghanistan, said the official, adding it could be a case of kidnapping for ransom.
“The district administration is investigating the matter,” Kakar added.
