(Update) Quetta Bomb Blast: 11 Killed to include 2 children, 23 Critically Injured

QUETTA: An explosion occurred on a bus terminal located on Quetta's Saryab road, killing at least 11 people and wounding around twenty three, said rescue officials.

The explosion occurred inside a local city bus parked at the terminal, which had upto 40 passengers on board at the time of the bombing.

Rescue personnel have confirmed that two children are among the dead.

Police officials have said that more than 20 people have been injured. All the injured have been shifted to the hospital. The injured remain critical, but among the 23, 5 remain severe and fighting for life in a hospital. The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta.

Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch is personally looking into the incident and investigations are underway.

The registration number of the bus has been confirmed as BSA-348. It is rumored that the bomb was situated at the back of the bus.

Security forces have cordoned off the area.

Traffic remains suspended on Saryab road, regarded as a sensitive area in Quetta.

According to initial reports, the explosion was heard in a wide area and has shattered windows in the nearby vicinity.

The explosion has reportedly occurred in Dukani Baba Chowk area.
