Five banned outfit men killed in shootout with FC

QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan on Wednesday killed five banned outfit men including a commander and apprehended three after a shootout in district Barkhan.

According to details, FC personnel conducted a raid in Chhair area of Barkhan district after they were tipped of miscreants’ presence in the vicinity.

The raid was followed by a shootout between security personnel and the miscreants resulting in the killing of five suspects including a local commander Sohbat Khan.

Two hostages were freed as a result of the raid, who were held captive for past six months.

Officials also seized arms and explosives from the miscreants.

A spokesperson for FC told that the deceased miscreants were involved in kidnappings for ransom and attacks on security forces.
