Clashes with Militants Left 4 Dead to Include 2 Security Personnel
QUETTA: Two security personnel and two militants were killed on Wednesday in an armed clash in Balochistan’s Sibi district.
Several militants were also injured in the exchange of fire in Sibi’s Sangan area, a security official on account of anonimity told media.
Security forces recovered weapons and explosives from the possession of the militants, the security official added.
“The militants were involved in attacks on security forces and vital national installations,” stated the security official.
The official declined to confirm if any militants had been arrested after the shootout.
The militants killed belonged to banned militant organisations, confirmed the official.
Bodies of the slain security personnel were brought back to Quetta Cantonment, with their funeral prayers attended by Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Amir Riaz and other high officials.
Security forces have intensified their actions in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan after the announcement of National Action Plan to combat terrorism in the country.
