Rs1.3m and 800gms Gold Recovered from Robbers Upon Arrest

QUETTA: Quetta police busted a gang of bandits in the railway station area and recovered Rs1.3 million cash and gold ornaments from their possession.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, DIG police Quetta range Syed Imtiaz Shah said that four members of the gang had committed robbery at a house on Faqir Muhammad Road on Jan 1 and looted cash, jewellery and other valuables. He said that on a complaint lodged by one Mohammad Asif Qureshi a case was registered against the robbers.

“CIA Quetta Police on a tip-off conducted a raid at a hotel in railway station area on March 23 and arrested one of the suspects, Wali Mohammad,” he said, adding that on the lead provided by the suspect, three others — Ziauddin, Sher Agha and Noor-ud-Din — were arrested.

The DIG said that police recovered Rs1.3m cash and 800 grams of gold.

He said that one of the accused, Noor-ud-Din was also wanted in a Sibi robbery case. Further investigation was under way.
