In total 13 personnel were inside the checkpost at the time of the attack.

They were first taken to the district headquarters hospital in Chilas and later shifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Gilgit by a helicopter.
One of the injured was in critical condition and he was shifted to CMH in Rawalpindi. The others are said to be out of danger.
After the attack a search operation was launched in the area during which a helicopter provided air surveillance.
Diamer police have registered a case against unidentified people.
