Ramadan Brings New Schedule for Power Load Shedding
ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has issued the load shedding schedule during Ramadan according to which the duration during the holy month will remain unchanged at four to six hours a day.
The schedule exempts Iftar and Sehri hours from power load shedding. There will be no load shedding 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after Sehri while Iftar and Tarviah timings are also exempted from lead shedding under which there will be no load shedding from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Ministry said that duration of power load shedding during Ramadan in urban areas will remain unchanged at six and that for rural areas at 8 hours a day while areas where the feeders are under pressure could face power problems.
The same has been affirmed in a recent order by the Prime minister Nawaz Sharif iterating that there will be no load shedding during sehar and iftar timings.
K-Electirc has seconded the idea but masses in Karachi doubt their motives.
