Lawmakers to Discuss Ways to Diffuse Saudi Iran Tension in Parliament
Minister of States for Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch on Tuesday said that the tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran would be brought to the Parliament for a resolve.
In an interview, he said that an All Parties Conference may be called to discuss the crisis on the return of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif from Sri Lanka.
He said Pakistan would play a positive role to defuse ongoing tension between two brotherly Islamic countries.
Qadir Baloch said Pakistan was closely monitoring the situation as the Saudi-Iran tension could have negative impact in the region.
To a question, Qadir Baloch said that PML-N government had been focusing on improving bilateral relations with all of its neighbouring countries of the region including India.
The recent execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr by Saudi Arabia has flared sentiments across the world, with Iran taking a bold stance against the Saudi Regime. Shi'ites across the world have protested and demonstations are underway for the cause. Iranians have torched two Saudi Embassies in Tehran and Mashhad as a reaction to the execution.
