Officials Met PM | Promoted to Grade 22 | Major Reshuffle in Posts
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met a number of officials on Thursday while approving a major reshuffle in the positions of federal government officials.
“Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) Syed Imran Gardezi has been appointed as federal secretary information and broadcasting,” sources told media on Friday.
The sources also revealed that Dr Shujaat has been appointed as special secretary finance; Khalid Masood, secretary communication; Pir Baksh Jamali, secretary ombudsman; Abu Akif, secretary climate change; Abid Javed, secretary food security; Shoaib Siddiqui, special secretary interior; Hassan Iqbal, secretary capital administration and development division; Humayun Khan, secretary federal education; and Abdul Jabbar as secretary National Assembly.
The appointments were approved by the premier during his meeting with the said government officials at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad. However, an official notification is expected to be issued.
The Prime Minister said transparency and merit is being ensured in the promotion of officers. He said the performance and attitude of the officers have been set as the benchmark for promotions.
All those government officials who met the prime minister were grade 22 officers as another bunch of officials will soon meet with the premier before their respective postings.
