Pakistan's New Ally Russia agreed to Join Military Exercises
Islamabad: Pakistan, building strong ties with influence in the region, have brought about an agreement with Russia in terms of defence cooperation to include join military exercises and exchange of arms and equipment.
The agreement was reached during a meeting in Moscow between Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and his Russian counterpart, said a statement issued on Wednesday by our defence ministry.
Asif is on an official visit to Moscow to attend the regional security conference. He also held talks with the Russian defence minister, during which the two ministers agreed to increase military cooperation in training and import of arms and equipment.
They also agreed that conflicts should be resolved through diplomatic means, and that use of force must be discouraged and abandoned.
“Joint participation in military exercises will be promoted,” said the defence ministry’s statement. “There was consensus that a multipolar world would ensure peace and balance in international relations.”
