Bullet Ridden Body of a Man Broke-out Protests in Northern Kashmir
BARAMULLA: Violent protests broke out this morning in Tangmarg area of this north Kashmir district after bullet ridden body of a man, alleged to be a Hizbul Mujahideen member, was found.
The body of Fayaz Ahmad of Wailoo village of Pattan was recovered by locals in a paddy field in Deebugh area of Kunzer this morning, witnesses told media. The locals instantly informed the police, who reached the spot and took the body to the sub-district hospital Tangmarg for post-mortem.
In the meantime, scores of people assembled in Kunzer and staged pro-freedom and anti-India demonstrations. Chanting slogans, the protesters threw rocks at the CRPF and police deployment.
Witnesses said that forces burst numerous teargas canisters to disperse the angry stone throwing youth, who allege Special Operations Group (SOG) hand in the killing of the Fayaz Ahmad. The clashes were going on when the last reports came in.
