End Indian illegal occupation of Kashmir - Yasin Malik
Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, has rejected the initiation of dialogue process with New Delhi emphasizing that the only way acceptable to the Kashmiris is the end of Indian illegal occupation of the territory.
Muhammad Yasin Malik was addressing a mammoth gathering at Lal Chowk in Islamabad town, today. He said that the present government of India was working on its malicious plan of total integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India. As such, he added, no talks process with India could yield any positive result. The JKLF Chief said that a mass agitation would be started if citizenship rights were given to non-Kashmiris in the territory. His address was punctuated by high-pitched anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing the Juma congregation at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar asked Pakistan and India to resolve the Kashmir dispute on priority basis. Senior APHC leader, Maulana Abbas Ansari, addressing a function at Dever in Baramulla and Professor Abdul Ghani Butt in a media interview in Srinagar welcomed the resumption of talks between Pakistan and India.
Hurriyet leaders including Zafar Akbar Butt, Syed Bashir Andrabi and Muhammad Yousuf Naqash in their addresses to party meetings and public gatherings welcomed the recent assertion of the Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Iyad Ameen Madani, in Geneva wherein he called for settlement of the Kashmir dispute through talks.
Hurriyet leader, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, addressing a gathering at Pattan and the Patron-in-Chief of Kashmir Concern, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, and the Chairman of Kashmir Council European Union, Ali Raza Syed, in their separate statements issued in London and Brussels urged India to take steps to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
