Indian Forces Claim Killing Banned Outfits Commander in Kulgam District
Clashes between security forces and insurgents left one rebel killed with a security personnel injured in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
The killed insurgent has been identified as Dawood Sheikh, a close associate of Hizbul commander Burhan.
One AK-56 rifle has been seized from the slain. Security forces carry out search operations in the area.
Security forces on Sunday launched a massive search operation in a village in south Kashmir's Kulgam district after insurgents fired a few rounds at them, police said.
"Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Buchroo village of Kulgam district, 75 kms from Srinagar, when fired upon our security forces who were advancing towards the village", a police official said.
