Demand of Inquiry into Treatment of APS incident's injured
PESHAWAR: An inquiry is demanded by the relatives and parents of the injured students at Army Public School, expressing reservations over the ‘selection’ of the students for treatment at government expense.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Monday, Abdul Wahid Qadri, whose grandson was killed and daughter, Ms Andleeb, a teacher in the APS injured, criticised the provincial government for not taking any practical steps for welfare of the heirs of the deceased and injured students. He said the government had also failed to announce any package for the class-IV employees of APS. Accompanied by other parents and relatives of the deceased students, Mr Qadri demanded trial of the persons arrested in the case in the military courts.
He said that the provincial government had announced only Rs500,000 for each deceased student, while it had given Rs2 million to each labourer, who were killed during the anti-encroachment drive in Peshawar. He demanded payment of the same compensation for the families of the killed students.
Mr Qadri He expressed concern over delay in shifting of injured students to hospitals in other cities, saying that due to the negligence another student lost battle for life.
