DI KHAN: A minor was raped and killed in Jatta village of Paroha tehsil in DI Khan.

An official of Paroha police said on Thursday, the boy was allegedly abducted as he was coming out of a shop in Kurai Adda a day earlier. Three assailants took him to a sugarcane field where they sexually abused and killed him.

“The assailants slit his throat and fled the scene,” he said. “The boy was reportedly killed over a dispute involving a motorcycle. The accused have been identified as Noman, Habibullah and Wahidullah.”

According to the official, an FIR has been registered against them.

His body was shifted to District Headquarters and Teaching Hospital DI Khan and was handed over to his family after an autopsy.

Earlier, in August, a large number of suspects were arrested in DI Khan for allegedly abusing a 13-year-old boy and recording a video of the act on their mobile phones. After the incident, four people – who were identified as Asmatullah, Noor Muhammad, Sakhawat and Qasim – settled the matter between the boy’s family and the accused. However, the video was circulated in the area.

According to Madadgaar National Helpline founder and Supreme Court lawyer Zia Awan, while 254 children were raped in different parts of the country, the number of children who were raped and killed stood at 767 for last year.

Awan said that 368 children committed suicide, 201 were killed as part of honour killings, 189 became victims of human trafficking, 456 were kidnapped and 269 went missing.
