'Zamung Kor' Inauguration, Reham Khan Boasted for her Efforts
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan inaugurated the first ever institute for street children, Zamung Kor (Our Home) on Friday.
Imran praised his ex-wife and the ambassador for street children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Reham Khan, for highlighting the difficulties faced by street children in the province, saying, "The idea for 'Zamung Kor' was first presented by Reham Khan, and I give her all my gratitude for the support she gave to this project.
Children will receive lodging, food, education and rehabilitation at the institute. The rehabilitation centre can facilitate over 1,000 children up to the age of 12 years.
The PTI Chairman said that even animal rights are cared for in the West but in Pakistan, street children were forced into lives afflicted by drug addiction. He said that KP would be made a welfare province.
Earlier in November, Imran Khan launched a donation appeal for a Rs800 million donation to purchase equipment for Peshawar's Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital which is scheduled to become operational on Dec 29 this year.
