PMD Regional Director Mushtaq Shah said, “A weather system entered K-P from the west on Tuesday and will continue to persist until Friday in the upper parts of K-P. However, in the central parts of the province, it will lose its strength by Thursday afternoon.”
He said temperatures across the province had increased over the past few days.
“However, temperatures had dropped considerably in Afghanistan,” he said. “Warm air carries more moisture while cold air is denser.”
Some flights were cancelled due to weather conditions. A PIA flight to Chitral did not take off from BKIA while another PIA flight that was expected to arrive at the facility from Chitral did not take off.
Heavy rain and snowfall hit various parts of Shangla, disrupting power supply in the district. Various parts of Chitral were also plunged into darkness as power supply remained disrupted.
