TTP kills PML-N Peshawar Chapter President
PESHAWAR: Haji Sardar Khan, President of Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz's (PML-N) Peshawar chapter, is shot dead in the Yakatoot area of Peshawar on Wednesday by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

In November 2014, militants had fired a rocket targeting the residence of PML-N's provincial leader Nawab Sanaullah Zehri in Balochistan's Khuzdar district.
Nawab Zehri's brother, son, nephew were killed in a powerful blast prior to the May 11, 2013 general elections in the same area.
Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, lies on the edge of Pakistan's tribal areas which have been labelled by Washington as the main sanctuary for Al Qaeda and Taliban militants in the country.
The city has seen frequent attacks by militants in the past few years, with targets ranging from civilians to policemen and other law enforcement personnel.
