LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) convened an all parties’ conference (APC) urging Muslim countries to make joint efforts putting permanent stop to blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by getting it pronounced as a crime by the United Nations.

In a joint declaration, the conference said the Muslim states should announce breaking of diplomatic, trade and cultural ties with countries letting acts of blasphemy go unpunished, and boycott their products.

The declaration called upon the government to hold an Islamic summit in Islamabad against incidents of blasphemy in the West and work for uniting the Muslim Ummah to adopt a common line of action on the issue.
