RAWALPINDI: The main runway at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) will remain closed to all flights for five hours daily from October 18 to 28 due to re-carpeting work, a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesperson said.

He said that the authorities concerned at various airlines had been informed about the runway’s closure from 1pm to 6pm every day.

“All passengers are requested to check their flight schedules before leaving for the airport to avoid inconvenience,” the spokesperson said.

A PIA spokesperson confirmed that due to the re-carpeting work, PIA had rescheduled all its flights for take-off or landing at BBIA.
