Indiscriminate Firing Between PML N Groups get FIR Registered Against 200 Activists

VEHARI: Police registered cases against over 200 workers of two PML-N groups, including a candidate of local body polls, for opening fire on the election office of a candidate in People’s Colony and blocking of a road here on Monday night.

Reports say that candidates of the MNA Tahir Iqbal group (PML-N) and the MNA Tehmina Daultana and MPA Mian Saqib Khursheed group (PML-N) are contesting LB elections in 24 wards of Vehari.

On Monday night, two workers of the Tehmina and Saqib group allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the election office of Sheikh Muhammad Hussain, a general councillor candidate of the Tahir Iqbal group, in the union council No 4 and fled the scene.

Later, workers of Sheikh Muhammad Hussain staged a protest demonstration and blocked the road against the firing incident.

Police registered cases against workers of both groups under sections 341, 148, 149 of the PPC and 16-MPO. No arrest was made till the filing of this report.
