IS Attack on Local TV Channel Injures 4 to include 2 Policemen
LAHORE: At least four people including two policemen have been injured in an attack, reportedly carried out by self-styled Islamic State (IS), on the head office of a Pakistani TV channel in Gulberg area of Lahore Cantonment.
Eyewitnesses said the attacker threw a hand grenade towards the Din News building along Jinnah Flyover, before fleeing the scene.
Police and other security agencies have reached the site. The area has been sealed and injured have been transferred to the nearby hospital.
Police sources said that they found pamphlets belonging to self-styled Islamic State – also known as Daesh – from the site.
Panic and harassment has gripped the residents of the busy locality, following the blast.
The office is located near Cavalary Ground area of Lahore Cantt.
Taking notice of the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered the authorities to immediately arrest the attacker.
