Orange Line train project crane claims man’s life

LAHORE: A man died here on Sunday after being hit by a crane engaged in Orange Line train project.

Sabzazar police said an unidentified man in his 60’s was crossing the Multan Road when a crane engaged in Orange Line Train Project hit him.

He was injured severely and taken to the Jinnah Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Police shifted the body to city morgue for identification, impounded the crane and arrested its driver, Waqas, after registration of a case.

So far at least four people have lost their lives in accidents involving vehicles engaged in the project work.

In another incident, an unidentified woman in her 50’s was killed after being hit by a speeding car in Defence C area.

Police said the woman was crossing the road when the car hit her.

The car driver fled the scene.

Police shifted the body to city morgue for identification and registered the case against unidentified car driver.
