Four Money Changers Arrested in Punjab

GUJRANWALA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday arrested two money changers involved in illicit modes of transfer in Gujrat and as many in Gujranwala.

FIA Deputy Director Khalid Anees said they arrested Muhammad Shafiq Butt and Sheikh Sajjad Naeem in Gujrat for running hundi hawala business illegally. The FIA seized 20,000 pounds from them. Another FIA team arrested Mazhar and Hayat for running an illegal money exchange business.

ACE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) registered on Tuesday corruption cases against 35 officers and building inspectors of Qila Dedar Singh, Khiali, Nandipur and Aroop towns.

Additional Chief Secretary Shamail Ahmad Khawaja had forwarded a reference to the ACE for cases against the officers for allowing illegal construction of commercial plazas. ACE regional director Rana Abdul Shakoor conducted an inquiry into the reference and found them guilty.
