Total of Four Hangings Despite two being Posponed

Four murder convicts have been hanged across several jails in Punjab early Thursday morning, Media reported.

It has been reported that three have been hanged in Rawalpindi Adiala Jail while one in Mianwali Central Jail.

Nine murder convicts were hanged across the country on March 18 while another 12 were sent to the gallows on March 17.

There remain two hangings in Sindh which were postponed by the government of an MQM activist Saulat Mirza and ‘underage’ convict Shafqat Hussain, scheduled to be hanged on Thursday (today).

Meanwhile, the juvenile Shafqat’s execution was postponed as his family brought forth ‘a birth certificate’ with affirmation of Shafqat to be under-age when condemned to death by an anti-terrorism court.
