Waqas Shah Buried - His Death remains a Mystery
KARACHI. Waqas Shah, murdered Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker, was buried with the mystery of his killing unresolved.
Member of the MQM’s Central Information Committee, Waqas Shah was killed during aerial firing following a raid conducted by the Rangers at the Nine Zero on Wednesday morning.
His funeral procession was held at Azizabad’s Jinnah Ground attended by his family members, relatives alongwith a large number of party’s workers and leaders to include Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Faisal Sabzwari and Wasey Jalil. He was later laid to rest at MQM’s Shuhada graveyard.
The contention remained as the party blamed Rangers for Shah’s killing as Rangers denied the allegations. MQM has demanded judicial inquiry over the Shah's murder and have lodeged an FIR No. 78/15 with the police over his murder against unidentified persons.
His postmortem report indicates involvement of a low-bore weapon whereas police officials have yet to ascertained how he was actually killed. “It is a challenging job to ascertain how actually he was killed,” said Azizabad SHO Asimur Rehman. “The police investigators have to probe which direction; the bullet came and hit him, its distance, weapon’s caliber and who fired that bullet.”
