Rangers Shot Waqas - Farooq Sattar
KARACHI: Farooq Sattar, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader, alleged on Thursday that their worker Waqas Ali Shah was in fact shot dead by a Ranger.
While addressing a press conference in Karachi on Thursday evening Farooq Sattar said, “We have irrefutable evidence to prove that he [Waqas] was martyred from firing by Rangers personnel.”
He demanded culprits to be brought to justice through the formation of a high-level judicial commission.
Farooq Sattar appealed for an investigation into the murder through Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali, DG Rangers, DG ISI and the army chief General Raheel Sharif.
He further iterated that, “…We totally respect all our law enforcing agencies,” he said. “My statement shouldn’t be taken as a political statement. As for Weapons, he added, "All weapons were licensed, no no-go areas at Nine Zero."
As many as 110 people were arrested from Nine Zero and its adjoining areas, most of whom did not have any affiliation with the MQM, added Sattar.
