Death Toll Rise: 19 Dead Consuming Toxic Liqour in Sindh

TANDO MUHAMMAD KHAN: At least 19 people, including two women, died on Tuesday after consuming spurious liquor in Tando Muhammad Khan town of Sindh.

According to police, the incident occurred in Karimabad area where people of minority Hindu community consumed toxic liquor.

Police said health of dozens of people, including women, destabilized after consuming the toxic bootleg liquor.

The victims were brought to civil hospital in Hyderabad overnight, where 19 of them, including two women, died, a police official said.

At least 15 others were still hospitalized.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, A. D. Khawaja, took notice of the deaths and suspended Station House Officer (SHO) of Tando Muhammad Khan Police Station, according to a police statement.
