Five Terrorists Killed Belonging to a Banned Outfit
KARACHI: Sindh Rangers encountered at least five terrorists belonging to a banned outfit in Karachi's Kaemari Town on Wednesday morning, a report said.
The Rangers carried out an intelligence based operation in the vicinity of Kaemari's Tapo area in cornering suspected terrorist, later identified, and enountered them with two paramilitary personnel injured.
A resident tipped the paramilitary force about the terrorists presence in the area, at about 6 am via their 1101 helpline, said Rangers spokesperson.
The paramilitary force took immediate action, reached the location and cordoned off the area with a reaction by the terrorists of opening the spokesman said.
The spokesman added that they also threw hand grenades aimed towards the paramilitary force personnel who in retaliation took out five terrorists with two Rangers personnel injured. The bodies and injured were subsequently shifted to a local hospital.
Five hand grenades were also recovered from the possession of the suspected terrorists.
Rangers reported that the alleged terrorists belonged to a banned outfit namely Ilyas Kashmiri Group wanted in various crimes committed around Karachi.
