RAO ANWAR is Back, Reinstated as SSP

KARACHI: The Sindh government has reinstated suspensed and much in news, Rao Anwar as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), sources told.

A notification in this regard is said to be issued soon.

On September 16, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah suspended Anwar for arresting Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan without “taking the government into confidence”.

Khawaja Izhar was released few hours after his arrest.

On September 19, Rao Anwar challenged the decision in the Sindh High Court, maintaining that the raid was conducted in accordance with the law.

The same day Javed Akbar Riaz was appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir.
