MQM's Five Individuals Sentence to 25 Years Imprisonment
KARACHI: Five individuals allegedly from Mutahida Quami Movement (MQM) have been sentenced by anti-terrorism court on Tuesday to 25 years of collective imprisonment each, under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including section 353.
Section 353 states 'assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty'.
The convicts, namely Irfan alias 'unit in-charge', Shahabuddin, Shehzad, Farhan alias Faisal, and Naseer alias DSP were found guilty of setting a police mobile on fire and shooting at policemen in 2010 in Shah Faisal Colony.
Investigators claim the convicts are affiliated with a political party (MQM).
