MQM's Chief disowns Governor Israt ul Ebad
KARACHI: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain announced on Thursday that he is ending relations with Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad, Media reported Wednesday.
During an address with party workers, Altaf said that MQM members must not approach Ebad for any personal or party-related issues as he has no relationship with the party any more.
Altaf denied the Sindh governor to have any association with the party and added that Ebad was merely a representative of the government.
The MQM chief said that under his tenure there was not only a raid at his house but party members were arrested and killed and Ebad did not issue any notices for further investigation into the matter.
MQM Chief also requested the media not to associate Ebad with the party during any discussions as he (Ebad) is a representative of the ‘establishment’ and not of the MQM.
Altaf Hussain went on to say that he has not separated himself from the party despite of living in Britain.
“I would come to Karachi as soon as the case against me in Britain ends,” he assured party workers.
He stressed that party work should continue like before.
“Any person who is afraid of the consequences can sit at home,” Altaf said.
