Saulat Mirzas' Latest JIT sent to Interior Minister
The joint investigation team sent convicted target killer Saulat Mirza's report on Wednesday to the interior ministry with new revelations, Media reported.
Sources privy to the development said Mirza made additional revelations during the joint investigation team’s interrogation of him.
Sources added the convicted worker has named three other men in various jails of the city to be investigated as well as they have key information.
A Joint Investigation Team on April 15 interrogated convicted Mirza. A nine-member JIT, including Sindh police as well as secret agencies’ officials, reached Mach Jail at around 12 noon and recorded fresh confessions of the condemned prisoner.
Mirza’s execution was stayed on March 19 after he made startling revelations about Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain’s alleged involvement in the murder of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC)’s managing director.
On March 30, Mirza’s execution was stayed for a further 30 days.
“Mach jail received the orders regarding a delay of 30 days in executing Saulat Mirza,” superintendent Mach Jail, Ishaq Zehri told Media.
