India Made it Interesting for Pakistan Though Win by 5 Wickets
MIRPUR: India get a give wicket win against Pakistan in the Asia Cup Twenty20 match, played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the Bangladesh capital Dhaka on Saturday (today).
India won the toss and put Pakistan to bat, which played well for them.
Pakistani could not withstand the bowling of their arch rival and secured only 83 runs in 17.3 overs, giving India a target of 84 run.
The captain, Shahid Afridi was not having a field day, managing to score only two runs before he was run out.
The batting line collapsed totally with none left to blame apart from Sarfaraz Ahmed and Khurram Manzoor who somehow managed to get into double figures, 25 and 10 respectively.
Hardik Pandya bagged three wickets and Ravindra Jadeja got two wickets.
Nonetheless, a score which was anticipated to be within reach, India made it interesting for the Pakistani fans world over by losing 5 wickets before winning in the 16th over.
Pakistan had nothing to complain but their bad performance. They had the heart to bat first, which India winning the toss gave away. Their batting collapsed immensely and it was a slippery slop from head-on. No partnerships were observed otherwise another 30 runs might have made a difference for the team, should they have played all 20 overs.
India despite a meagre total went ahead and lost 5 wickets and if not for Virat and Yuvraj, they were trying to put the ball in Pakistan's court.
India got off to a flying start in the tournament when they crushed hosts Bangladesh by 45 runs in the opening match on Wednesday.
